Re-do

I was in some sort of business/hotel/conference building. The leaders of some corporation had just arrived when there was an attack. Several of the leaders were killed, and the place was in panic. For some reason, we couldn't leave the building, so everyone hid. The attackers were scavenging the place killing everyone who opposed them. I was successfully staying out of the way- moving from room to room. I'd drift between small groups of people. You couldn't really trust anyone because you weren't sure who the attackers were. This went on for a while until I was caught on the middle of a floor with a couple of other people.

Two large groups were coming towards us on either side. They weren't in sight yet, but we could hear them coming. But we still didn't know who to trust. So we scattered. We all went into different rooms. I ran into a bathroom. The bathroom was dirty, but I ran into a stall. I had to figure out how to hide. I thought about standing on the toilet, but for some reason, I stood in a little trash can. There was a little bit of pee inside, but I knew this way I couldn't fall, and they wouldn't see my feet. However, a woman must have seen the bathroom door closing because she opened the stall door and threatened to kill me.

She was one of the attackers, and she called for support. Somehow I managed to talk my way out of the bathroom and escape through the crowd. But they'd seen me. I was running through hallways trying to find somewhere to hide. I met a younger girl, and we huddled together under some blankets. The blankets somehow looked like debris, so as long as we were completely covered no one could see us. The bad guys were passing us by, and we were safe. But then somehow, my head became uncovered.

I told the girl to stay still, and she'd be ok. Then, a male soldier turned my way, pulled up his gun, and shot me in the head. I didn't have much time to think before it happened. I remember feeling scared and yet also surreal. I'd been safe so long, and this is how it'd end. When he shot me, I felt my body go limp. As blood drained down my forehead, I literally felt the 'energy' drain out.

It's hard to explain, but as color and light faded, I could also feel myself fade away. I knew I was dying, and it happened so fast. I wasn't watching myself; I was still seeing things from my perspective. And it was terrifying staring down the barrel of the gun, to see the blast of the bullet, to feel inner loss as I watched him leave as I died... almost.

Everything turned grey, and just as I was almost gone, my energy came back. But things were different. I was dead, but I was a ghost, and I was seeing everyone else that died- both good and bad. The crazy(er) part is that once you figured out how to touch physical objects you could pretend to be alive, and living people couldn't tell the difference. Then, I discovered that the leaders of the corporation were the bad guys, and the attackers were trying to get rid of them before they completed their plan- to kill a whole lot of people and take over the country. Well, the leaders were killed, but they mastered how to pretend to be alive, disguised themselves, and they were the ones terrorizing the building.

I knew I had to do something, so as I struggled to get used to being dead I went looking for people who knew what to do. I found 2 older women who were secretaries for someone important. They knew things, but they weren't able to do anything. I also met this other person who told me how I could fix everything.

The plan begun. I went back to the secretaries with a letter that explained everything and had them sign it in order to verify it was legitimate. Then, I went to this special secret place of the building. Then I through some powder and colored discs in the air. Some sort of magic or something started swirling everything in the room. Next thing I know I am in a different part of the building before the initial attack. I knew I needed to find someone in charge of the attackers, so they would only capture the corrupt leaders instead of killing them, and thus beginning the 'undead' rampage. I went to the secretaries who didn't remember me because they hadn't met me yet. I told them everything, and they thought I was crazy. I showed them the documents they had signed, and they were astonished. They began calling people. I ran to a balcony that overlooked the lobby. Within minutes, the "good guy" attackers came in just as before. People were screaming, but this time, they leaders were 'kidnapped' and take away. I remember feeling a sense of relief knowing none of the panic, hysteria, and my death would happen. In fact, I must have felt really resolved because I woke up.
